*** Very Low Mileage and Fantastic Specification ***
*** 1998 BMW 540i in Glacier Green ***
This is a very reluctant sale of my lovely BMW 540i, which has a very low mileage, in very good condition and has a truly amazing specification, which you'll discover when reading further down the text.
It has just 64,200 miles on the clock, which is the lowest by a long way compared to a lot of the others for sale on the various online car sales websites. The mileage can be corroborated via a number of different online checkers such as My Garage. It is MOT'd until 13th February 2019 with no advisories.
If you're reading this advert then I'm sure you'll know that the 4.4 litre V8 engine in the E39 540i is fantastic and is mated to the lovely 5-speed steptronic gearbox. It sounds absolutely beautiful but not so loud as to be intrusive to the occupants.
It comes with 3 keys, an original wallet file containing all the correct documentation including the all important fully stamped up service book. It also comes with it's own lever arch file with a load of previous MOT's and invoices for various services and work carried out, more of which later.
Firstly, shown below is the original build-spec and costs. Together with the usual refinement you get in the flagship 540i, some of the highlights include the supremely comfortable, immaculate and rare fully electric, memory, heated, black leather comfort seats (at a cost of £1895), TV with Navigation system (at a cost of £3355), electric rear sun blind (and manual rear side blinds) and double glazing too!

Other items to note that have been spent on the car recently include a complete set of door trim strips at a cost of £250, a new set of Avon tyres, a set of original BMW alloy wheels to match the spare (it originally had Alpina alloys fitted when I bought it) and a new ECU at a cost of over £1000.
As commensurate with a 20 year old vehicle please be aware that this is not a concourse car, although with a little TLC it certainly could be! There is a very small rust spot near the rear number plate, a small dent along the underside of the rear number plate, a scuff on the rear nearside lower bumper and what looks like a palm print of someones hand to the right hand side of the front bonnet badge. I've checked on eBay and I've seen clean Glacier Green E39 bonnets going for £50 from breakers so would be a very cheap fix. A few of the pixels are missing on the dash but this can be sorted by a number of specialists if it bothers you.
To find such a low mileage and highly spec'ed 540i is getting rarer nowadays, these particular models are appreciating in value and quite rightly so. In my opinion the E39 model is the best BMW have ever built.
The car is situated in Bicester so please feel free to come and inspect it and take it out for a test drive. No dreamers, test pilots or tyre kickers please, this is genuinely a lovely car and should go to an enthusiast who will appreciate it for what it is.
Many thanks for looking.
