1990 BMW E30 318is
MOT Feb 2018
Engine Rebuild in 2015 by classic marque specialists at a cost of £2700.
Z3 Steering rack fitted
The 318is was one of the very last E30 model updates. It featured a very highly developed 16v engine and was launched as a better alternative to the hot hatches being offered by other marques such as the VW GTI. Standard features include, Sports suspension borrowed from the 325i Sport including rear anti roll bars, Sports seats, vented brake discs, power steering, electric windows, electric mirrors, de-chromed trim, M-tec steering wheel, leather gear knob and front/rear spoilers.
This example is being sold from a collection and has been updated over the years with sensible upgrades to make the driving and ownership experience even more rewarding. The car has no corrosion issues and offers a good investment opportunity.
Exterior and interior,
The Brillantrot paintwork still shows with a deep uniform gloss. There are few dents or scratches, overall the car can be considered excellent in its presentation. The Anthracite check M-sport interior presents well and only the drivers seat shows very minimal wear consistent with the cars age.
Engine and Transmission,
The car starts on the button and the engine pulls very well through the rev range as you would expect from a freshly rebuilt unit. An invoice with a breakdown of the full scope of work can be found in the history file. All gears engage with ease and the steering feels responsive due to the Z3 rack upgrade. A new clutch was fitted at the time of the rebuild work.
Wheels / Tyres / Brakes,
The original BBS 15’ Wheels present well and fitted with matching tyres on all corners. The brakes have been uprated with drilled and grooved disks that show little signs of use.
A presentation folder containing a comprehensive account of the cars history. Bundles of old mots and current V5 certificate. Invoices of recent recent updates along with historic work.
