BMW 5 Series 525i Se
Black, Petrol, Automatic
It is with regret that I have to sell Boris. We are moving soon and will not have the room anymore. Contact for more photos!
He is firstly fully HPI clear, and was used for filming in the TV show Stars in their Cars driven by Patsy Kensit and Paddy McGuiness in London, this car has a genuinely super LOW MILEAGE having just turned 70k!!!
Still has original BMW torch, first aid kit and is rust free, complete BMW book pack and service booklet with stamps from BMW but not entirely - he is 28 years young. Has two keys and also has a Clifford alarm system with both fobs too.
Boris starts and drives very well with that sweet sounding straight six engine, I have used the car very little and the idea was to restore to showroom condition but my business is booming and we are moving home so we must be realistic and currently we have 5 vehicles outside. Have done two long journeys and was a pleasure to behold using no water or oil at all and still shifts when required.
In my ownership I have had new brake pads and discs all round, Full fluid change including gearbox oil. New battery, spark plugs and filter, a rolling road prior to this which showed 134bhp and as new produced 169bhp, not a bad loss i'd say! However since the full service its certainly improved and I would estimate at the least 150bhp. However Boris is at home as a swift cruiser not an outright speed machine, and the engine sings such wonderful tunes.
There are some quirks and bad points and I am a brutally honest man so here is the list of things I had down to do, as per good form I wanted him mechanically correct first which he is and i'd drive him tomorrow from birmingham to scotland and back with no quarms, yes that confident.
The headlining has begun to sag, the drivers seat bolster is flat not ripped though. The body is solid as is the underneath but the dinks from living in london are abundant and there is corrosion to all alloys however all the tyres are great, approx 4-5mm rear and 6-7mm front with no uneven wear. The cv joint rubber has split causing minimal steering shake on poor surfaces. Coolant warning comes up but theres NO issue with head gasket nor does he use water suspect sensor. Dash board occasionally flickers again either dusty old solder or loose wires on clocks.
Thats it, if I was being picky the rear exhaust outer layer has corrosion but far from holes. DO NOTE a. He is 28 years old. b. Ive been a mechanic before a locksmith and have inspected this car on an anal level in the workshop. c. to do everything to a high standard as mentioned I was looking at 1900 which including all bodywork.
If you pay me £3500 ill do the lot.... and then you have a show car as well as what Boris is now, a daily classic driver!!!
I have just MOT'd Boris feel free to check his history on the GOV.UK website.
This is an investement vehicle and will not decrease further left in his current condition, please get in touch to discuss further but do bare this in mind. I wish to sell relunctantly but silly offers will be ignored, this is no banger....Boris is potential to be a historic vehicle so do not contact me unless you are serious please, Kind regards.
